È French keyboard

Sometimes you in inadvertently change your keyboard into a French keyboard by holding down Ctrl and Shift at the same time.

Fortunately, you can get back to an English keyboard the same way.

Colour prints coming out Black and White, try Word

If you try to print colour from Google docs, or PDF, you get black and white.

But if you print colour from Microsoft Word, you get colour!

Forcing Google doc comments to be printed on landscape Word doc

When you add comments to a Google doc, the document can be exported into MS Word, and appears to be landscape, so that the font size is about the same and the extra width is used to house the comments.

BUT

When you actually print it, it prints portrait and shrinks the font size accordingly. To make it really landscape, you need to do more than just choose landscape in Page Layout Orientation (which is already selected), but rather go into the Page Setup dialog box and choose it...

Bb test to Word conversion

Blackboard tests don't print well so we use Respondus, or more specifically email Chloe and she'll convert it.

First go into course tools, tests surveys and pools, tests, mouse over the test, export

In the Respondus_conversion Bb site, go to the same place but import

Then email and ask Chloe, she'll send back a Word doc.

The Word document will have asterixes that can be removed by Ctrl+H, replace All

Curvy text in Word 2013

Making curvy text in Word 2013 is slightly different than in Word 2007 I found out.

You start the same, insert Word Art

But then you type the text, and END with choosing which type of Word Art to apply through Text Effects.

Setting Multiple tab leaders in Word

Setting Multiple tab leaders in Word 2013 can't be done.

The word-around is to open it in an earlier version (I did it in 2007), select all the tabs, paragraph call-out box, tab, select a leader, OK.

I did have a couple of corrupt tabs that prevented me, but once I dealt with them individually the rest worked properly.
